Is your child breaking the school bus rules?
Labels: Discipline
Has your child been misbehaving on the school bus frequently? Well, it's time to change this behavior and hopefully my suggestions for change will help.

Sure, it is hard to ride the school bus everyday and have other children starting fusses, causing problems, and its even worse when your child is the problem or one of the problems on the school bus.
You can put thirty to forty children on a bus back and forth to school for perhaps an hour more or less and there are going to be problems for the bus driver. That's not a job I would want, as it's very hard on that driver to watch the road, keep these children safe and still have control over the situations and the children on the bus. Plus some of these children are great friends, others are not and you mix them all together and there are going to be problems.
If you are having problems my first suggestion would be to sit down with your child and see if you can resolve the problem. If this doesn't work, then you'll need to plan a time to meet and talk with the school bus driver. This
may take place even on the phone or at the school.
Ask the driver what he thinks is a good solution for the problems on the bus with your child, even have him put your child in the seat behind him if he is a major problem to others on the bus.
Determine if another child is causing your child to fuss or fight with him on the school bus, we all know that children can influence each other greatly at any time and perhaps the driver will have to separate the children who are causing problems with each other or just to the other children, together they may cause more problems than if alone.
If you can drive your child to school and you need to do so rather than him get along on the bus, tell him he will have to give up a privilege or have to do a chore for you as you are giving up your time and you could have done that chore
such as sweeping the back porch or putting out the trash, and stick to your plan and see that he does this chore or something is taken from him such as a trip to the movies.
When you are driving your child to school take this private time with him and put it to good use and discuss the problems he is having on the school bus and ask him what can be done to change the problems.
Now if you just have a bully on the bus who is actually causing harm to your child, take this problem to the school bus driver. If he doesn't change things, then go to the school and take it as far as necessary to make the changes.
